Publisher and scope

This website is published by Puzzlewhistlereel Marine Media Ltd, 9 Adelaide Road, Dublin 2, D02 H970, Ireland, company registration number 756318. These terms explain the basis on which our editorial material and local browser tools are made available. For enquiries, contact [email protected].

Information, not professional approval

Content is general educational and editorial information. It is not engineering advice, a survey report, a repair specification, a certification service, a legal opinion or a determination of seaworthiness. We do not inspect your vessel or know its condition, design, operating context or applicable requirements.

Obtain appropriate vessel-specific advice from competent personnel and the relevant authorities. Do not use this site to decide whether a vessel may operate, to set structural acceptance criteria or to bypass class, flag, safety management or other obligations. Urgent safety concerns belong in the vessel’s established reporting and response arrangements.

Accuracy and current requirements

We aim to explain the subject carefully, but material may contain errors or become outdated. Technology, standards and survey requirements change. Confirm current primary sources, editions and applicability before relying on any summary. Descriptions of possible workflows are not claims of universal approval or guaranteed performance.

Independent references

We are not affiliated with or endorsed by IMO, IACS, ISO, classification societies or other organisations mentioned unless expressly stated otherwise. Names and marks belong to their respective owners. External links are provided for context; we do not control their content, availability or privacy practices. Contextual photographs do not imply endorsement by pictured people or organisations.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not accept liability for loss arising from reliance on general site content or from interruptions, external sites or device-specific tool behaviour. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, or limits mandatory consumer rights.
