What this site uses
The site’s own code does not set HTTP cookies or load optional analytics, advertising trackers, external fonts or embedded third-party media. It can save your explicit storage preference in your browser’s localStorage. LocalStorage is different from a cookie: the stored value is not automatically attached to each web request.
The mobile menu and scroll reveals do not require persistent storage. The letter composer does not save drafts. Downloading or copying a letter uses your device’s file or clipboard facilities rather than a website tracking cookie.
| Item | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| puzzlewhistlereel-cookie-preference | Remembers an explicit choice as “essential” or “accepted” in localStorage | Until you clear it here or remove this site’s browser data |
Your browser preference
There are currently no optional cookies to activate. Essential only does not limit access to any article or tool. Accept records your choice but does not activate tracking or authorise undefined future purposes; any new optional purpose will require appropriate notice and consent.
Clearing or blocking storage
You can remove the saved choice using the control above or your browser’s site-data settings. Browser settings can also block cookies or localStorage. If storage is blocked, preference controls report that the choice could not be saved; the articles and local letter tool remain available.
A choice is specific to this browser and device. Private browsing, site-data removal or using another browser may mean no preference is available.
External services and links
Clicking an external source link opens an independent website that may use its own cookies. Our preference does not control those sites. Hosting infrastructure may process technical connection information to deliver and protect this site; see our privacy notice for that distinction.
